AussieRockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17984668558021295355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4047234333310975506.post-80689191487491021452015-02-27T08:59:39.395+11:002015-02-27T08:59:39.395+11:00this concert was from the last tour of the US for ...this concert was from the last tour of the US for their first album. broken heart had not even been recorded yet, i don't believe; thus, "isn't it time" was not in the set. the song titles for the set list that are included on this boot are incorrect as well. the actual set is as follows:<br /><br />01. looking for love<br />02. rodeo<br />03. wild man<br />04. dying man<br />05. if you've got the time<br />06. rescue me<br />07. i believe in love<br />08. give me your love<br />09. and if you could see me fly<br />10. do you wanna (drum solo)<br /><br />it is interesting to note that that they included three songs in the set that ended up on broken heart (06, 08, 09). according to mike corby, they only performed "i'm falling" in concert a couple of times. unfortunately, the listing for it in the set on this boot is wrong - the song is actually "give me your love."<br /><br />also of note is the unreleased "do you wanna." not the most interesting song, but one that many fans have never heard or even heard of.<br /><br />SUMMARY: this is an excellent sounding bootleg - a soundboard recording for FM broadcast on KSAN in 1977. this is one of the handful of live recordings from the era with the original line-up, and is far superior to the live at the tower promotional LP from 1977. you can hear each instrument and voice rather clearly. of note, tony brock's excellent harmony vocals are clear and present, as are the occasional harmony vocals from michael corby, who also introduces the song "rescue me." overall, the band is tight and inspired, resulting in impressive performances. stand-out performances are "looking for love,"dying man,"rescue me," and "give me your love." <br /><br />MY OPINION: if the original unit could have held together despite the meddling of chrysalis, they would have been a huge arena act. broken heart is a testament to just how unique they really were and has held up extremely well over time.texiananoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4047234333310975506.post-86387913469633447202014-11-25T19:20:25.715+11:002014-11-25T19:20:25.715+11:00I remember getting bootleg albums from Toad Halls ...I remember getting bootleg albums from Toad Halls rare Records.
